Fun little mormon ad.

I find it ironic that such a homophobic organization would use pirates, who in history (if I recall correctly) are known for their somewhat loose morals as to where tab A fits and into what slob B.

I like the sentiment behind this ad, I don't approve of the organization which poked its nose into California politics and thereby is causing the destruction of many perfectly good families.

Just sayin'. I wish I had the money to put out Roleplaying Advocacy tv ads. They'd look similar to this one.

As is often the case, not everyone in an organization is smoking the same pipe. My buddy Hippie(also known as Paul) is a long time Larper and also a Morman. The ad made me think of him.

He is decidedly not someone given to the same thinking that was espoused in California this last year. Nor is every Catholic or even most most of the Catholics I know. Or Baptists. Or fill in the blank I guess.

Or maybe we are both over thinking it. They are fighting the pirates after all. Nothing wrong with fighting pirates.

The California/prop 8 situation is tragic, but I don't think we should paint all Mormons with the same brush (no more that I'd like people to assume that all LARPers are the same).

That aside, they have a history of good ads in this vein. I like that they don't say "join our church," just things like "spend time with your kids."

Roleplaying advocacy ads would rock!
