Occasionally I have to remind myself that human beings are remarkable creatures. For all of our horrors and petty evils, we really do remarkable things. This is a man who wanted wings to fly with so he built them. Watching him fly is awesome. We truly live in a scifi world. A nice thought before I sleep.

a few key things I have discovered on exercise and dieting.

When I workout in the morning I may feel better but I am ravenously hungry for meat or the like if I push myself hard during the workout. This makes it more likely I will hit the fast food in the morning rather than get some cereal. That will probably settle down once I am back to being used to the routine.

Also I cannot bring myself to workout if I have a headache. I can do it with aches and pains. Even feeling a little under the weather I can at least go for a walk but this morning I woke up with an epic headache and I cant bring myself to go to the gym and workout.

For what it was worth I always liked his portrayal of a military officer as being strong and thoughtful. It is one of the things I like about Stargate. It is often easy to show the military as full of buffons or warmongers while of course the heroes are exceptional. Stargate over the years has taken the effort to show that the career military ranks are filled with reasoned and disciplined folks who believe in serving their country. Mr. Davis did this very well in his portrayal of General Hammond for a number of years.

Tip a hat and lift a drink to the gentleman.

I fell of the diet wagon after the event. I don't tend to stay on diet at events cause well I am burning stuff like crazy. I am going to try and be back on track today though there is dinner at the Japanese steak house with an out of town friend. I don't mind though I will just eat a little better before that and just leave room.

I did make it to the gym though. The larp worked me pretty hard and it left me a physical shambles for a few days afterward. I did a whole hell of a lot of fighting. That will take it's toll on men 10 years my junior. I will just have to work out harder so the next one is a little easier. One thing I want to get better at is being lighter on my feet and moving better. This will involve me being....well lighter.

I have no reservations in saying he was one of the 10 funniest men of say the last 100 years. The world is just a little less interesting today.

So before I get ready for work an update.

So I have not been posting my calorie totals here. I just felt like I was bombarding people uninterested in what I ate yesterday. I am still posting but over at fitness for geeks social network. Basically they are built around some podcasters and the like trying to loose weight.

I also had fallen off the working horse. I was not working out for over a month. This week I decided to change that. Today is my 3rd day in a row of making it down to the gym. I am a little annoyed that it is taking me a while to get back some capability, but I am getting there. Mainly doing 30 minutes of cardio and a little strength training to get back in the mode. Also to cap it all off I get to do some stair climbing when I am done cause well I live on the 3rd floor.

I am off to the shower and then off to work. Thought I would share though.

There are quite a few folks who find it bad already. Looking it over I have to say it is not quite as bad as I at one time suspected it would be, but that said it is still pretty bad. I can't see any reason why anyone would will really want to use this license. As it is I will be locking down my setting wiki today. It will be contributor only readable. Frankly given the tone of the GSL I would expect to get sued by Hasbro just for using the terms that are found in a players handbook.

I caught the pilot. It has promise. The writers clearly have a grasp of comics and the sense of humor is dry and surreal. I am going to recommend this one kiddies. DVR it if you can.
