The latest on grandpa is he is home. They still don't know what caused the problem to begin with and he has a catheter still, but he is at home resting. According to grandma he is not eating well and he has no energy at all. He is well enough to walk from the bedroom to the dining room sit there and read the paper so that is something. He is also well enough to start drinking when he got home, but that is par for the course. He will hit the urologist tomorrow I believe and hopefully loose the catheter. Still worried about him but less so.

Fun with weight fluctuation. One positive side is I can feel my cloths be slightly looser. I am not loosing pants sizes yet, but they do feel a little looser which is good.

Best Robbery Evah!

"Craigslist is a great place to sell that beat-up sofa or (for the supervillains among us) recruit your next batch of henchmen. Now, thanks to a Monroe, WA man, "bank robbery decoys" has joined the list of creative uses of the grassroots classifieds service.

According to The Seattle Times, a Craigslist ad was placed last week, offering road construction work at $28.50 per hour in Monroe, WA, a city northeast of Seattle. About a dozen men replied to the ad, and all received instructions to show up outside a Bank of America wearing a yellow vest, safety goggles, a respirator mask, and a blue shirt.

As the men gathered outside the bank within the proper attire, however, another man wearing the same getup used pepper spray on a guard transporting cash from an armored truck into the bank. The suspect grabbed the duffel bag, ran 100 yards to Wood Creek, and made his getaway (floataway?) on what police believe to be an inner tube. Seattle FBI spokeswoman Robbie Burroughs told the Times that armored car robberies are "quite uncommon," and that she's never heard of an inner tube serving as a getaway vehicle. "

first up.

I did helped out a podcasting buddy of mine who has achieved a measure of success. He has sold the book rights to his Seventh Son trilogy. J.C. Hutchins is a real podcasting success story. I am glad to say I know him. Anyway he released an anthology of stories and shorts set in the world recently. This was including a call for video content. I contributed to that. The premise is that during the course of events in the seventh son novels some very bad men set off essentially suitcase nukes at key power grid and power plant stations which effectively shuts down the power to the united states for weeks.

Here is a compilition of four videos. I am the fourth one. Enjoy.

ps. You should also listen to the podiobook Seventh Son cause it is a lot of fun. It is also free.

Small Asteroid Predicted to Cause Brilliant Fireball over Northern Sudan
Don Yeomans
NASA/JPL Near-Earth Object Program Office
October 6, 2008

A very small, few-meter sized asteroid, designated 2008 TC3, was found
Monday morning by the Catalina Sky Survey from their observatory near
Tucson Arizona. Preliminary orbital computations by the Minor Planet
Center suggested an atmospheric entry of this object within a day of
discovery. JPL confirmed that an atmospheric impact will very likely
occur during early morning twilight over northern Sudan, north-eastern
Africa, at 2:46 UT Tuesday morning. The fireball, which could be
brilliant, will travel west to east (from azimuth = 281 degrees) at a
relative atmospheric impact velocity of 12.8 km/s and arrive at a very
low angle (19 degrees) to the local horizon. It is very unlikely that
any sizable fragments will survive passage through the Earth's atmosphere.

Objects of this size would be expected to enter the Earth's atmosphere
every few months on average but this is the first time such an event has
been predicted ahead of time.

Did do some sparing today which went well. I had my usual post beat down hunger though. I may take a protein shake to drink immediately after next time and see if that helps.
