Came across this little bit today. Apparently this group calling themselves Anonymous have declared all out war on the Church of Scientology. They have already begun some pretty heavy assaults on Scientology websites. They apparently have a comprehensive plan which they actually posted on this site.

Now I am torn on this. On the one hand they are right. Scientology has been an pretty reprehensible for a while now. They have sued people for sharing internal church documents and dogma, they have threatened and bullied people who publicly mocked their religion, and there are some pretty bad cases where people who got involved with the church appear to have been taken advantage of and in some cases died under their "care".

I personally find the church a sham and bordering on being dangerous.

That said I am pretty strongly in support of people being able to worship however they see fit. Faith is a personal matter and people should be left alone to it.

I am watching this and part of me is cheering. Another part of me fears the day groups like this decide to go after me or something I am apart of.

Anyways I found it interesting and I will be watching this. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

I don't know why, but I really like the video, despite it being a disturbing rant against Scientology (which is also creepy). Nothing like a creepy war between a creepy religion and a creepy secret society...sounds familiar.

See it would be much more dramatic if I were writing it as a story. The reality of it is a little disquieting.

See, the think of it is, the core of Scientology practice is not, in point of fact, dependent on the structure of the Church of Scientology.

There are those out there unaffiliated with the main church who can hook you up to an E-Meter, and perform adjustments.

The real problem with the Church of Scientology is that they present themselves in internal documents as an alternative to medical treatment. Now, I for one am all for certain practices being complementary to traditional medicine. In some regards, I can tolerate the choice of Christian Scientists to not pursue care within traditional medicine.

The documented fact of it is that the Church of Scientology has abducted their own members, isolated them from needed care, and essentially tortured and killed them in horrible conditions for the security of the bottom line and the ability to present the success ratio of adjustments as a form of treatment.

I have no sympathy for the Church itself, but I can tolerate the practice of the belief system.
