a few key things I have discovered on exercise and dieting.

When I workout in the morning I may feel better but I am ravenously hungry for meat or the like if I push myself hard during the workout. This makes it more likely I will hit the fast food in the morning rather than get some cereal. That will probably settle down once I am back to being used to the routine.

Also I cannot bring myself to workout if I have a headache. I can do it with aches and pains. Even feeling a little under the weather I can at least go for a walk but this morning I woke up with an epic headache and I cant bring myself to go to the gym and workout.

Since I started doing some minor stuff for my upper body, I have been near constantly craving meat.

Cooked and with enough barbecue sauce, yes!

Can you try for higher protein morning things that aren't fast food, but are more substantial than cereal? If you are pushing yourself hard you probably need that protein burst post-workout.

I may try and scramble some egs next time and see if that helps.

Peanut Butter might be another option, on some whole wheat toast.

I eat a small steak after a work out.

Yogurt and eggs are good suggestions. I usually went with scrabled egg whites... added a bit of cheddar if I felt like it. When I was in the gym 4 days a week I'd eat HUGE breakfasts.

There are also several High protein cereals. Check the natural foods section. Kashi makes a few.

Protein bars or Protein shakes for breakfast will fight that craving as well. I kept some powder shake mix around all the time. I'd just add a scoop of it to breakfast if I craved it. It'll add ~120 calories to your breakfast, but its better than fast food.

If you start craving meat again before lunch, a handful of peanuts can help. A few pieces of beef jerky can work too, but the sodium content is higher.

Headaches are hard. Nasal congestion always stops me from working out. Try stretching and warming up, maybe even a few pushups or a little jogging. Sometimes getting the adrenaline going kills the headache and puts you in the mood to work out.

You can shift your off days to make up for the sick days. I really don't have a good suggestion to the feeling sick issue.

Perhaps it is because one's pain tolerance is lowest in the morning?

Headaches are tolerable for low levels of cardio but I've always found that weights make my head want to asplode if I have a headache. :(

Even if you just walk, though--it's moving and worth going. I /understand/ why it's hard, even as I encourage you to go.
