So on to the less controversial.
So there are some iconic roles in boffer larps. I have played a number of them.

Utility Rogue(Mortimer Underhill)
The Archer(Angus McPhereson)
The mage's mage(Reginald Smythe)
The Battle Mage (Reginald Smythe)
The two weapon killing machine(Saul)
The Skill and brewing based healer(Piotyr)
The fop(Reginald and Hugo)
The duelist (Hugo)

I have used the following weapon styles on PC's.
Two weapon
Florentine
double dagger
Axe and dagger
Glaive
Shovel
Bow

What Should I do the next time I make a character is the question?

The guy who finds thing out is not the same as the loremaster/info whore. It's fun to dedicate your character to solving mysteries by getting lore skills, etc...

That specific archetype I have not really played despite Sauls attempts at scholarship. It could be fun, though it is often considered a passive role.

From my experience as an info whore, I'd say that it doesn't feel like a passive role. I felt more in control of what went on around me as Balthasar than I have as really any other character. Because of the things and the people I knew, I could often manipulate outcomes on a large scale.

I have to admit it is tempting. Especially appeals to the part of me that likes to debate things. It also appeals to the part that likes spy plot.
